About Us
Golden Wand Magic is run by Eric and Elsie Black, profesional magicians with over 40 years experience in the magic business.
Eric and Elsie’s professional careers began in 1969 where their unique stage show magic act grew in popularity throughout the local areas of South Wales. This quickly got the duo noticed, resulting in regular spots with top UK holiday resorts such as Butlins and Pontins, ongoing contracts with several schools and local authorities, and invitations to perform in pantomimes and children’s theatre. Indeed one of the biggest contracts secured by Eric and Elsie was with TESCO, performing in the food chain’s stores throughout the UK.
Towards the end of thier professional careers, Eric and Elsie established themselves as mainstream children’s entertainers, performing at children’s parties, concerts, and various outdoor events throughout Cardiff and the South Wales area.
Eric and Elsie now spend the majority of their time running a magic shop in Port Talbot, South Wales. Originally located in Aberavon Shopping Centre, the shop moved to a dedicated premises on Station Road in 2009.
The shop has the proud distinction of being the only magic shop to be found anywhere in South Wales, and attracts both amateur and professional magicians and entertainers from all over the UK. The shop stocks a fantastic range of magic items for children, beginners, and professional stage magicians, from small individual magic tricks and illusions to dedicated magic sets and props. We also specialise in card tricks, coin tricks and close-up magic items, which Eric and Elsie can happily demonstrate to you in the shop.
Beside our magic tricks and magic accessories, we also have various other items for entertainers, including puppets, juggling accessories, and dress-up items. All items are on display in the shop, so you can see for yourself the quality of our stock.

Although very busy running the shop and online store, Eric and Elsie still find the time to engage with the local communities and perform at various events in and around South Wales.
We take great pleasure in supporting the younger generation of amateur magicians and performers in South Wales, and often organise trips to see the shows of famous magicians and permformers in the UK, helping to promote the uptake of the art for generations to come.
Despite no longer entertaining audiences on a full-time basis, Golden Wand Magic regularly perform at local community events, such as the Aberavon Beach Festival and Margam Park Event Days.
